RULES FOR THE MINI
200 pts, 2 versions of 1 list, 4 rounds, 2 hrs per round, 15mm and
25mm, reduced size tables.
- 1. All armies are to be 200 ap, two versions of one list.
- 2. The rules are DBM v2.0, DBM lists 1-4 and Errata.
- 3. Army Points are according to DBM lists EXCEPT that the command costs for generals are halved (i.e. a Regular general is 10 ap, an irregular is 5). E.g. an Irr Kn(F) general will be 9 + (10/2) = 14. Round up cost.
- 4. All maxima and minima in the lists are halved, including generals, and rounded up. E.g. an allowance of Norman LH(O) 0-3 is halved and then rounded up to 0-2. Two elements of baggage are still required per
command, and will count as per normal for demoralisation. There are 2 special cases:
-
- i) In the case of Allies with maxima limits, the 2 baggage elements are deducted first and then the maxima are halved (so for eg Aghlabid Allies 0-16 will have 2 baggage elements deducted, and the resulting 14 maxima
- halved to 7).
- ii) In the case of lists with compulsory Double Based Elements (DBE's) (eg Byzantines), the halved minima and maxima are rounded up to the closest number of complete DBE's. So for eg, Byzantine DBE Klibanophoroi 0-2
becomes 0-2.
- 5. Only one sub-general is allowed even if after halving and rounding up the list would allow two subs to be fielded. Any other general must be an ally. If, and only if, the army fielded has no allies in the list then
you may field the third of the Sub-Generals as an ethnic ally (with the ¼ of compulsory troops etc) so long as the original army list allows 3+ Sub Generals before halving. (This to stop Reg armies with 3 generals
running rings around people at 200 ap, and give the "one or none" sub-general armies a chance). Also after halving, any mandatory ally generals must be fielded.
- 6. Terrain will be setup by the players as normal. All terrain min and max dimensions are reduced by 1/3 and rounded to the nearest 50p increment:
Min WW = 200p
Max WW = 600p
Max area piece = 650p
Min area piece = 50p
Max River width = 150p
- 7. Time and Weather will be played.
- 8. Table Size for 15mm will be 48" wide by 30" deep. Attacking and Defending forward deployment zones will be reduced to 450p. Flanks will continue to be at 300p from table edge, ambushes 500p from attackers' table edge. Table Size for 25mm should be 6' wide by 4' deep. Attacking and Defending forward deployment zones will be reduced to 300p. Flanks will continue to be at 300p from table edge, ambushes 400p from attackers' table edge.
- 9. Game times will be 2 hours per game.
- 10. 2 baggage elements per command.
