Periods and Rules
Exact details will be announced closer to the event. We will be running the following periods:
Field of Glory - Two to three 15mm periods and one 25mm period. Probably a 15mm Renaissance period either beta or the real thing.
Flames of War - One or two periods, late and maybe middle war if there is enough interest.
DBM - We couldn't run this last year, but we will offer it if enough people express an interest early enough.
DBMM - Discussions are on-going depending on interest with the crowded calendar and other events. We’d like to run 15mm and 25mm.
Other periods - Is there something you would like us to run (6 th, 7 th, Armati, WHx or anything else) then please let us know?
Entries
- Entries required by the 2nd October 2010.
- The cost is £20 per player or £72 per team of 4. Players under the age of 18 years are allowed free entry and full time students are allowed entry at half price. Cheques made payable to “BHGS”.
- Entry fees and any queries to be addressed to:
Details to follow.
- All correspondence must enclose a stamped addressed envelope, and Players who indicate an e-mail address will receive details via e-mail.
- Admission to the tournament is at the sole discretion of the organisers and their decision on all matters is final. An application to enter denotes acceptance of the rules.
New Team Competition Rules
- We will continue to combine the club and team competitions in 2010 into a single new team competition. We'll resurrect the club competition if there is enough interest in following years.
- Teams may be made up from any group of players, whether from the same club or not and should consist of up to 4 players.
- No more than 1 player may be entered in any period. The scores from the team’s players will be added together to determine the team score (multiplied up if necessary so all periods contribute the same potential number of points to the team score).
- Team entries can be made by entering the team name on each player's entry or by submitting a team entry sheet with the players of the team listed. A discount will be available for team entries made using the team entry sheet.
- The Roll Call shield will be awarded to this year's winners.
General Rules
- Players must supply their own terrain pieces, which must be to an acceptable standard. Additionally all figures must be representative and must be painted and based to an acceptable standard. Umpires will have the discretion to remove unsightly or unrepresentative items.
- Players must be present and ready to start all matches at the appointed time. Where a player has a reasonable excuse for arriving late the match start will be delayed by up to 30 minutes. After which time the effected player will be awarded a bye (see period rules for specific details). No player will be awarded more than one bye for any reason.
- If a player resigns from a game at any stage after the first set up dice have been rolled their opponents will be awarded maximum points.
- A modified Swiss Chess system will operate throughout the competition. Where possible players may not play against fellow club players in the first 2 rounds, nor players whom they have played in earlier rounds, nor against any relatives in the first degree of consanguinity. Thus a player cannot be matched against his/her spouse, parent, brother, sister, and/or child.
- This event counts towards the relevant BHGS rankings.
