Entry Fees and Conditions

The entry fee is £ 20 per person. Entry fees will not be refunded under any circumstances.Cheques should be made payable to "BHGS".

Competition Information

Table sizes are 6' x 4'.

Measurement is by imperial (in inches).

Players must be present and ready to start each match at the appointed time. Where players have a reasonable reason for arriving late the match start will be delayed for up to 30 minutes. After this period has elapsed the affected player will be awarded a bye and maximum points. If a player resigns from a game at any stage after the first set up dice have been rolled, their opponent will be awarded maximum points.

Players are expected to exchange their deployment plan and ambush details at the end of each match, these to be returned after inspection. For this reason it is important that players ensure that plans and ambush details are explicit (guidance is available within the BHGS fair play guidelines)

Players should note that deployment and ambushes details WILL be actively umpired for the duration of the competition and that umpires may require sight of such plans.

Players must provide their own terrain.

To discourage slow play it is expected that games should achieve a minimum of 12 pairs of bounds and that deployment should not exceed 30 minutes.

Matches will continue until the end of the defenders turn in the current pair of bounds when time is called. Time will be called after 3 and a half hours plus a 1 - 15 minute random factor. The random element will be determined by the umpire prior to the start of the round and will not be revealed until the announcement is made.

Blitz rules will NOT be played.

The cost of an allied general may be reduced by 10 points if regular and 5 points if irregular if this has not already been altered on the army lists. Players must fully define their troops as they are placed on table. Invaders dice must be shared by players.

Scoring will be per BHGS with a maximum of 32 points and a minimum of 0 per game.

Playing clarifications

There is no uphill in dunes.

Elements placed incorrectly in ambush, deployment etc will be relocated at the nearest piece of good going to the center of the offending players table edge in a formation decided by the offending player. All such elements must be in edge to edge and corner to corner contact and at least one base rear in contact with the table edge. Troops in the center sector at deployment but technically not visible must be deployed on table at start up.

Space considerations limit us to 20 entrants. Places will be filled on a first come, first served basis.
