DOUBLES MASTERS 2012
14th/15th April 2012 |

15mm DBMM COMPETITION RULES
- The rules to be used are DBMM version 2.0. The Umpire will utilise any current official errata and clarifications. This will be in the form of the Commentary available on the DBMM Forum http://www.dbmm.org.uk/ The Umpires decision is final.
- For 2012 the competition will be a themed event based on anyarmies that are within the dates - 500BC to 476AD - irrespective of what book they are in.
- The army list submitted must not exceed 500 points. The Competition is a single list format
- Army lists must be submitted allocating all elements including baggage to a command. They must specify the number of ME and the disheartened/broken/shattered levels for each command and for the whole army. The list must indicate the climate, aggression factor, year, geographical region, generals where relevant, classification of general, all stratagems chosen (and the elements to which they apply, if appropriate) and all double based elements. Once an army list has been submitted it may not be changed or altered other than to correct any errors. Players may only correct their errors by making reasonable changes to their list. It is not allowed to completely re-write the list, and the list checkers decision on this is final.
- Army lists must be submitted for checking in advance and must be received by the List Checker not later than two weeks before the event. A penalty may be imposed for late submission of lists.
- Any incorrect list discovered after a game has commenced (after “aggression” dice have been rolled) must be corrected prior to the next match.
- The List Checker is Christoher Brann - c_brann@hotmail.com. All lists should be send to him and be compatible to Office 2003 and/or Open Office. The lists should be layed out with whole army and then commands. This will make his checking easier. Please ensure that when you send him your list the "subject" clearly states "Oxford Doubles Army list" so that Christopher does not miss any.
Please note that only incoming calls are possible, and that the list checker can only respond to queries in connection with Army Lists. All other queries must be addressed to the organisers.
- Players must fully define their troops as they are placed on table. Figures must provide a reasonably accurate representation of the troops they are trying to represent – they must not look deliberately misleading.
- Table size is 6' x 4' and players must supply their own terrain pieces. These must be to an acceptable standard, and umpires will have the discretion to remove unsightly items.
- Each Player must command, move and be responsible for at least 30% of the BGs in the army.
- To speed game play, players may only control BGs that are adjacent i.e. each player must operate at his/her end of the table. Control of BGs may therefore change during the course of the game.
- Teams must be present and ready to start the match at the appointed time. Where a team has a reasonable excuse for arriving late the match start will be delayed by up to 30 minutes. After which time the effected team will be awarded a bye and maximum points. No team will be awarded more than one bye for any reason.
- If a team resigns from a game at any stage after the first “aggression” dice have been rolled their opponents will be awarded maximum points, In the case of an odd number of teams, either one team will play as singles or an umpire team will fill in .
- When time is called, play will continue until the end of the current pair of bounds.
- The event will be adjudicated by Tim Childs who will be the player-umpire.
- A modified Swiss Chess system will operate throughout the competition.
- The draw for the 1st round will be random, although should numbers allow may be seeded. A modified Swiss chess system will operate throughout the competition. Where possible teams may not play against fellow club members in the first 2 rounds , nor players they have played against in previous rounds, nor against any relatives in the first degree of consanguinity, thus a player may not be matched against his or her spouse, brother, sister, parent or child.
