15mm DBMM COMPETITION RULES
- The Period Umpire will be a Tim Child.
- The List Checker is David Mather. 158 Canterbury Road, Westgate-on-Sea, Kent, CT8 8NJ. Email to mather@ntlworld.com. All entries requiring a reply by post should include a stamped and addressed envelope.
- The list checker can only respond to queries in connection with army lists. All other queries must be addressed to the organisers.
Army lists are due in by the 12th of October 2008.
Rules, Lists and Clarifications to be used
- The rules to be used are DBMM version 1.0.
- Armies may be chosen from DBMM published book 3 or DBMM book 2
(as at 20/9/08, see below for further information),
DBMM book 2 is not currently published. If it has been published before 20/9/08 then the published version will
be used, if not then the draft version available from http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/DBMMlist/ (in "files")
will be used. We have been assured it will remain available for Rollcall. Allies for whom there is no DBMM
list (books 1 and 4) may be taken from the DBM lists, as modified by the rules and subject to the approval
of the listchecker.
- The list submitted must not exceed 400APs for 15mm and 350APs for 25/28mm.
- Any incorrect list discovered after a game has commenced (after set up dice have been rolled) must be corrected prior to the next match.
- Army lists must be submitted allocating all elements including baggage to a command. They must specify the number of ME and the disheartened/broken/shattered levels for each command and for the whole army. The total army size for each list must not exceed those listed in point 3 and the list must indicate the climate, aggression factor, year, geographical region, generals where relevant, classification of general, all stratagems chosen (and the elements to which they apply, if appropriate) and all double based elements.
- Once an army list has been submitted it may not be changed or altered other than to correct any errors. Players may only correct their errors by making reasonable changes to their list. It is not allowed to completely re-write the list, and the list checkers decision on this is final.
- Except as specified in the DBMM army list books, only Romans and Byzantines can have regular baggage. All others converted from the DBM army list books may have irregular (O) or (I) baggage except that armies that are completely mounted (including mounted infantry) can have irregular (F). In accordance with the notes on p.1 of DBMM Army List Book 3, allied commands of less than 10 troop elements cannot have more than 1 baggage element.
- Stratagems such as Hidden Obstacles or Disguised Troops that are list dependant will only be permitted if specified in the published DBMM army lists or, for armies converted from the DBM army lists, if the conversion is obvious to the list-checker (whose ruling is final).
- Army lists must be submitted for checking in advance and must be received by the List Checker not later than two weeks before the event. A penalty of 2 victory points per round, for each round of the
competition (at any venue), may be imposed for late submission of lists. Any incorrect list discovered after a game has commenced (after aggression dice have been rolled) must be corrected prior to the next match.
- Table size is 6' x 4' and players must supply their own terrain pieces. These must be to an acceptable standard, and umpires will have the discretion to remove unsightly items.
- Players must be present and ready to start the match at the appointed time. Where a player has a reasonable excuse for arriving late the match start will be delayed by up to 30 minutes. After which time the affected opponent will be awarded a win and 25 points.
- If a player resigns from a game at any stage after the aggression dice have been rolled the game will be scored as if the resigning player’s army had been broken.
- Matches will continue until the end of the current pair of bounds when time is called. Time will be called after 3.5 hours plus a 1 - 15 minute random factor. The same random factor will be used in the
DBM and FOG competitions, will be determined by the umpires prior to the start of the round and will not be revealed until the announcement is made. Players may always commence games earlier than the stated time by mutual consent.
Sundry
- Admission to the tournament is at the sole discretion of the organisers and their decision on all matters is final. An application to enter denotes acceptance of these rules
