Entry may be by team or individual using the correct entry form. The team entry form may be downloaded here and the individual entry form may be downloaded here.
The cost is £20 per player. A discount of £2 per player will be given to BHGS members booking before the 4th September 2008. Players under the age of 18 years are allowed free entry and full time students are allowed entry at half price. Cheques made payable to “BHGS”.

All correspondence must enclose a stamped addressed envelope, and Players who indicate an e-mail address will receive details via e-mail.
Admission to the tournament is at the sole discretion of the organisers and their decision on all matters is final. An application to enter denotes acceptance of the rules.

Teams are to be selected from any group of players, whether from the same club or not and should consist of up to 6 named players including a team captain.
The team captain is responsible for ensuring that all details relating to his team entries are correct and that the team name and captain are clearly indicated on the entry form(s) and score sheets.
No more than 1 player may be entered in any period. The scores from the team’s players will be added together to determine the team score (multiplied up if necessary so all periods contribute the same potential number of points to the team score). Player’s scores can count towards the club competition.
The team entry form must be used and can be downloaded here.

Scores from a club’s 12 highest scoring players in any period (multiplied up if necessary so all periods contribute the same potential number of points to the team score) will be added together to form the club score.
A club must nominate a club captain on his entry. The captain is responsible for ensuring that all details relating to his clubs entries are correct and that the club name and captain are clearly indicated on the entry form(s).
Players may only represent a club which they are a member of, and where necessary previous entries to BHGS events will be used to determine this.
Players taking part in the club competition may also take part in the team competition.

Players must supply their own terrain pieces, which must be to an acceptable standard. Additionally all figures must be representative and must be painted and based to an acceptable standard. Umpires will have the discretion to remove unsightly or unrepresentative items.
Players must be present and ready to start all matches at the appointed time. Where a player has a reasonable excuse for arriving late the match start will be delayed by up to 30 minutes. After which time the effected player will be awarded a bye and maximum points. No player will be awarded more than one bye for any reason.
If a player resigns from a game at any stage after the first set up dice have been rolled their opponents will be awarded maximum points.
A modified Swiss Chess system will operate throughout the competition. Where possible players may not play against fellow club/team players in the first 2 rounds, nor players whom they have played in earlier rounds, nor against any relatives in the first degree of consanguinity. Thus a player cannot be matched against his/her spouse, parent, brother, sister, and/or child. This event counts towards the relevant BHGS rankings.
A trophy will be awarded to the 1 st, 2 nd & 3 rd placed players in each period. A trophy will be awarded to the 1 st placed club and 1 st placed team, to be received by the relevant captains.
A prize draw will be held at the end of the event, using competitors ID Badges. The lucky winner will be awarded free entry including a budget accommodation package at this year’s BRITCON. The winner must be in present to receive the prize or it will be re-drawn.
